Pat Heung Central Primary School positions their school as a dreamland of love, hope, and harmony. The school is located in Yuen Long Pat Heung, where its century-old campus has been installed as a cultural relic. Despite its strong local historical heritage, the school is now serving students from more than 10 different countries, including Nepal, Pakistan, Indonesia, India, France, Germany, American, Japan, Korea and Somalia. The School hopes that all students, regardless of their cultural background, are able to develop their full potential, value identity and live harmoniously with their peers in this loving environment.
Grow Your Mind Day was organized to help students and teachers to develop growth mindset through experiential learning. The day started with an introduction to two types of mindset, growth versus fixed mindset, and their differences. Students were then taught that their brain can grow through taking on challenges and if don’t give up easily. Finally, students tried different challenging tasks (e.g. picking marbles, juggling, draw without brushes, etc.) that invited them to step out of their comfort zone. Students learned that they could solve different challenges by finding their own effective strategies on that day and had a lot of fun.
